Phy 84 Chem 72 Mat 81 In TN board.I had applied for TNEA counselling.Am I eligible for Btech biotechnology?what colleges there for me ?

Leena 14th May, 2019

Hi Maria. The eligibility for B.tech biotechnology admission through TNEA counselling depends on the aggregate score. If you have scored minimum of 50%(General), 45%(OBC) and 40%(MBC, DNC, SC, ST & STA), then you're eligible. Also, depending on the cut off marks, a merit list would be released by Anna University on the fourth week of June. The admission depends on availability of seats, number of candidates, etc. Therefore, it depends on your rank that will decide the college.

How about placement in Bundelkhand university for b. Tech in biotechnology??

tanmoymunshi1999_9606691 Student Expert 22nd Jun, 2019

Hey Vedanshi,

I think the scope B.Tech in biotechnology in India is not that great, it's decent. If you're aiming to pursue BioTech then you should try for Tier 1 Colleges like IIT's and NIT's. According to reviews Placement in Bundelkhand University is decent but Biotechnology placement there is not good.

In class 12 my marks in best 4 was 90% bt in du in journalism from dcac my % will become 87.5% can I get admissionwith this % indcac, obc cat

Raashi Kohli 22nd Jun, 2019

Hi, i would like to inform that it is a little difficult to predict the cut off scores or rank for any college/course as they change every year depending on various factors like the number of applicants, number no seats available in the college etc.

Based on last year's cut off for Delhi college of Arts and Commerce, the first cutt off percentage was 96.5%. looking at last year's cut off you might be able to get admission by 7th(88% last year) or 8th(84% last year) cut off list.

You can use Careers360 DU College Predictor 2019, to confirm about your chances. The predictor will show colleges in which you can get admission based on your best of four percentage and the DU cut off trends.

Good Luck

Mukti Thakur 19th Jul, 2019

Biotechnology is any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms, or derivatives, to make or alter products or processes for a specific use. It is a multidisciplinary course including Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Genetic Engineering, Recombinant DNA technology, Biochemistry, and Bioinformatics. SRM University Haryana is a good institute for Biotechnology and related fields in India. This is because they provide international exposure to students via their semester aboard program. They provide a good opportunity for students to research from second/third year onwards.

Which is best course bvsc or bsc Biotechnology

manasa Student Expert 27th May, 2019
To put it as it is both courses are at par, taking into consideration the immense job opportunities that both these courses offer to a graduate. Both these courses ultimately provide the resources for farmer life and his well being.

If you are interested, comfortable with pets, milch animals or wildlife then think no more, opt for veterinary.

If in the contrary you are interested in plants, crops, soil and natural resources you should opt for a career in Agriculture .It has more broad opportunities due to the several disciplines that come under it like - Agronomy, Crop protection, Plant Breeding, Soil science, Microbiology, Statistics and so on.

So choose the course according to your personal and intellectual interests.
