Electrical Engineering
As an SC female candidate with a CRL rank of 254246 and SC rank of 14188, getting Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) in top NITs might be difficult. However, you may have chances in newer or less competitive NITs like NIT Nagaland, NIT Mizoram, NIT Sikkim, NIT Arunachal Pradesh, or NIT Puducherry under the Home State or SC category in later rounds. Keep an eye on spot rounds and also consider state-level colleges for better options.

That's great! Since you are from Haridwar and have completed a diploma in Electrical Engineering from Govt. Polytechnic Narendra Nagar, you can take admission in BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications). Most universities allow students from any stream to join BCA, especially if you had math or computer as a subject in your diploma. You’ll need to check the eligibility criteria of the college you choose. Some colleges may also conduct entrance tests or give admission based on merit.

Yes, as a B.Tech Electrical Engineering student, you can choose Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA) as your first paper in the GATE exam. GATE allows candidates to choose papers outside their core branch if they meet the paper-wise eligibility. However, DA is a bit coding and math-heavy, so make sure you’re comfortable with programming, linear algebra, and data handling. If you're interested in AI/ML fields or higher studies in that area, DA is a good choice for you.

Official fee details for the college don't include any donation charges. Admission to their diploma courses is usually based on how well you did in your 10th-grade exams. Some places also say they admit students in the order they apply, as long as you meet the basic requirements.
I can provide you with the official fee information available for the Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Sankara Polytechnic College, which is located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
For your first year, you can expect to pay around Rs.53,500. The total cost for the entire diploma will vary. If it's a regular 3-year course or a shorter 2-year course (if you join later), the total tuition could be anywhere from Rs.60,800 to Rs.1,18,000. If you opt for part-time studies, the yearly fee is likely to be about Rs.41,300.
Besides these main fees, there are some extra charges you'll need to budget for. When you apply, there's probably a small fee of around Rs.300. Once you get in, there's an admission fee of about Rs.4,000. You'll also need to pay for your uniform, which might cost around Rs.2,500. Each year, there will be additional charges for things like stationery and placement help, totaling around Rs.7,000. If you join any clubs, there's a semesterly fee of about Rs.2,000. If you plan to stay in the hostel, that will cost you roughly Rs.15,000 per year.
So, keep in mind that while the first-year fee is around Rs.53,500, the total cost will depend on the course duration and you'll need to factor in these extra charges for a complete picture.
I hope this helps.
Hello,
With a GATE score of 480 , rank 2998 , and OBC-NCL category in EE , you have chances in some NITs, IIITs, and good state government colleges for M.Tech. Getting into IITs might be difficult, but newer or lower-ranked IITs may consider you in some interdisciplinary branches.
For jobs , some PSUs recruit through GATE , but for top PSUs, your score might be low. You can still apply for state government jobs, private companies, and research fellowships that accept GATE scores.
Since you are in third year , your score will be valid for next year also. You don’t need to apply for admission this year. In your final year (next year), you need to apply for COAP (for IITs) and CCMT (for NITs, IIITs, etc.) .
Right now, no forms are required . Just focus on improving your score if you want better IITs or PSUs next year.
Hope it helps !
