iiser admissiin portal is not letting me a general category student to submit my preference list, when i try to submit it says your category rank is blank, the area of category rank is greyed out, not editable, please help

Samyak Jain 14th Jul, 2026

Hello Dear Student,
For General category students, your "Category Rank" is naturally blank or "Not Applicable" (NA) because you compete under the Common Rank List (CRL). This blank status is normal and is not the reason your form is failing to submit.

Hope it helps!

Hey there,

For JNKVV B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering) admission through MP PAT, there is no fixed minimum mark for a free (government) seat. Admission depends on your General category rank, cutoff, seat availability, and counselling. In recent years, General category candidates with higher scores and better ranks have had better chances

i scored 350 /750 in cuet and im from general category and im looking colleges for btech biotechnology . can i get a decent govt college with good campus , exposure etc

Samyak Jain 1st Jul, 2026

Hello Dear Student,
Getting a decent government college for B.Tech Biotechnology with a General category score of 350/750 is highly challenging, as top-tier universities generally require scores of $500+. However, you still have viable opportunities to secure admission in Central and State Universities that accept CUET scores.
