Sorry dear,this is not possible,and maybe considered as a wrong practise By the administration.

If You belong to SC category and also have the verified certificate of the same then only you will be considered as SC and  allowed to take admission by your respective category,else you will be counted as general.

If you want to take admission in IIT through gate anywhere else you need to mention your category in the form of gate it is found that bases your marks will be evaluated and your rank that is your category rank will come in the scorecard of gate and you need to show valid documents to take admission. If you have mention SC category in GATE form only on that basis you will get admission in IIT on the basis of their category. I hope this was helpful to you and the information was clear to you.
