I have completed my 12 th standard in 2017 .Am I eligible to apply for iisc banglore ??

mahima garg 28th Apr, 2019
Hey dear!!

To apply to the IISC banglore, first you should be aware of the process and eligibility criteria for applying to the IISC.

IISC or IISC banglore gives admission on the basis of qualification and securation of minimum cuttoffs of  entrance exams like KVPY, NEET ,JEE etc. Cutoffs depends on the course , a candidate is applying for.

So if you want to take admission in IISC banglore, you need to give Entrance exam. And you are able to give entrance exam or not, it depends on the eligibility criteria for which exam you will apply. Like for neet, and jee, you are eligible to apply even if you have completed your 12th in 2017.

Hope this helps,
If any query do comment/post.

Best wishes

how to get admission in IISC .

dhameerbhatia31_7970609 Student Expert 26th Apr, 2019

Hello Kehsav,

If you have a rank below 300–250 in SA or SX stream, then you can get admission in IISc for ug. If you score around 260–300 in mains, you will also get admission. If you score around the same score in mains, you can get admission. So as you can see,it is very difficult through JEE and NEET so KVPY is your best bet.

Thanku.

how are the placements in iisc bangalore inthe course bsc geology and which companies offers and what is the starting package

Saba 24th Apr, 2019
Hi Ramasai.

IISc Bangalore is one of the reputed institutes for research in India. It doesn't provide any placement assistance as such. Most students go for further studies and get to research at some of top prestigious research centres.

Unlike engineering and IT, Science courses such as geology and life sciences are not where you can expect placements from.

For a IISc Alumni, there are no derth for good opportunities.

All the best.

Anandhu J 23rd Apr, 2019

Hello Dhananjay. Congragulations for qualifying in JAM. IISc provide I.PhD which can be accessed through IIT JAM. As you qualified in BL paper, you are eligible to apply for admission in IISc. In order to apply to IISc through JAM you have to apply via the admission portal of IISc Admissions. But the deadline was 25th of March 2019.

If you have already registered then you can check for the probability for getting admission in IISc via cut-off of previous year.

Please visit https://www.iisc.ac.in/admissions/cut-off-report-and-gate-score-of-previous-years/

There are opening and closing All India Ranks (AIRs) which will be published for getting admission. But for ST category that lies in range 450-750 and varies every year depending on the qualifying marks and the number of individuals who are there in the list.
