For admission in IIST Candidates must clear the JEE Advanced exam. General category candidates must score at least 20% marks in JEE Advanced i.e 72 marks out of 360 and at least 6 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects, OBC-NCL candidates must score at least 65 marks out of 360 marks and 5 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects, SC, ST & PD candidates must score at 10% marks i.e 36 marks out of 360 and 3 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects

Qualifying for applying to IIST, you need to score some minimum marks in JEE Advanced.

For general category, a candidate needs to score minimum 6 marks in each subject and a minimum aggregate of 72 out of 360 in JEE Advanced to be eligible to apply for B.Tech./Dual degree admission in IIST.

The admission to Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram is based on rank list prepared involving those who applied for IIST and qualified JEE Advanced. There is no separate exam for admission to IIST than JEE Advanced. You should have 30% marks overall in Advanced as well as 10% in each section separate. And 75% marks in your Class 12. Based on these minimum eligibility and your position in rank list prepared by IIST determines your admission. The cut off for Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Thiruvananthapuram for OBC category is 18% aggregate marks in JEE Advanced. Along with this you need an individual score of atleast 4.5% in all three respective subjects that are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
