Theres no seperate reservation for maratha students in IITs. IITs and NIT's are national institutes.Maratha category students don't have any reservation in National Institutes but if you apply through MHCET for colleges in maharashtra they have some reserved seats for maratha students.

Anything around 5000 rank in Jee Advanced is considered safer to get into IIT. You may also get a seat with around 6k rank but then the chances would be 50-50 and also you may get some lower branch. It is better to keep around 5k.
