80–90% students get placed in IT Sector like TCS,Infosys, Wipro,COGNIZANT, etc . core companies also come but they recruit less . some of the core companies are BLUE STAR,Godrege and Boyese, Johnson controls, Indian Navy etc. But TCS is the mass recruiter in ee, in 2017 ee' s first batch placed. TCS recruits a bulk of students from EE. So get admit at IEM with closed eyes, definitely you will be placed.

See at this you can't be able to get admission in  jadavpur university with this rank. as it is the eminent university in west bengal. however every year cutoff changes. for iem kolkata it may be difficult also. however you have chances for heritage institute of technology and Haldia institute of technology.

 You will be eligible for biotechnology, electronics and instrumentation, civil engineering , chemical engineering, mechanical engineering

First of all congratulations as you have performed quite well in Wbjee exams and getting some good college for admission. 

Both IEM,  saltlake and HERITAGE are the best private colleges under WBJEE entrance examination. Both are very good and if we compare then both are good from onr another in many ways.

If you want college life and infrastructure then surely Heritage institute of technology is having an upper hand over IEM , saltlake. But the placements and faculty at IEM , saltlake campus are better comparatively. 

And if we rank both of them then IEM is always considered as having upper hand. 

Coming to departments then the placements of CSE and IT departments are almost same in both of these colleges. Because maximum placement is offered by IT companies offering jobs to both CSE and IT department students.

As per previous year closing rank of comedk you have chances in dayanand sagar  academy of technology and management, bangalore in civil engineering. Last year closing rank for general category candidate was 32627. So with 19k rank you have fair chances to het admissioned into this college but not BMS but still you may try because you may get in other rounds of counselling.

After HBTU ia removed from UPSEE examination, the first choice for everyone is INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (IET) LUCKNOW. Most of the candidates will be going for IET LUCKNOW and it's right also. So from IET LUCKNOW and MAULANA ABDUL KALAM AZAD UNIVERSITY AND TECHNOLOGY i would suggest you IET LUCKNOW. But it also depends in branch so if you are getting at least ECE/EE/ECM then join IET otherwise go for MAULANA ABDUL KALAM AZAD UNIVERSITY AND TECHNOLOGY.

The overall standard of IEM and Heritage is almost same. In academics, both colleges are same too. I can say that placements of IEM is just a little bit better than Heritage, but Heritage is also very good(in 2015, 508 students were placed in TCS in Heritage). ...IEM also lacks of good infrastructures and large campus.

Last decision is yours.
