Will my original SC certificate work if Im not able to provide in the format for JOSAA?

Harsh Chandravanshi 5th Nov, 2020

Hi Aspirant!
Yes, your original certificate will work if you are not able to provide in the format of JoSSA.But JoSSA ask students to do, so that there will not be any ambiguity at the time of reporting due to different format. You can upload your original certificate but at the time of reporting there can be any consequences. So take decision according to that thing.

I hope it helps.

how to fill the choice filling in josaa counselling. according order of preference means what?

rohan.20022004 8th Oct, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

Choice filling has to be done very intelligently. You should place the seat with your highest priority first followed by other seats with lower priority one by one. The best ones should be at top while the ones that you don't prefer much should be at end. Once choice filling duration is over your preferences are locked. If you get the first preference from your list then the seat is automatically freezed and you cannot go for further rounds. So always place the colleges with your highest preference and priority at top and then the others with decreasing preference and priority one by one. Complete this job wisely with a calm mind.

with crl 56000 to what college could I apply through josaa

Swarnabha Das 8th Oct, 2020

Dear Aspirant
At first lots of congratulations for your results .
I .According to trends of previous years and this year's JEE MAIN cut off I am afraid to inform you that your chances of getting admission into colleges NITs GFTIs and IITs are almost negative. There might be chance for you if young to SC or ST category. However You can try in state level counselling and private colleges .One thing is important that admission in those above mentioned category entirey depends upon that particular category rank , not the All India rank.
you can check previous years cut off

I got 31159 rank in jee main 2020 general category from maharashtra state. what should be my preference list for Josaa counseling to get in top NITs? I am interested in mechanical ,CSE , electrical, electronics branch

Nandhini Student Expert 8th Oct, 2020

Hello student,

With a rank of around 31,000 in the general category, it becomes difficult to secure a seat in the top nits comparing the trends of the past years. The closing ranks for VNIT, Nagpur was around 28,000 in civil engineering and around 38,000 in mining engineering. However, you can predict the colleges which you are likely to get using the below mentioned link:

If I got a college in 1st round in Josaa counselling but I can get better colleges in the upcoming rounds, Should I accept the seat at 1st round and pay the fee or Can I do it in upcoming rounds ?

rohan.20022004 8th Oct, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

If you want to go for next round but still keep the seat allocated in first round you need to use the options Float or Slide.

  1. Float: It means that you have accepted the seat allocated in the first round but you wish to participate in next round. In the next round if you are allocated seat at a college you have given higher priority, the seat allocated in the first round will be lost.
  2. Slide: Slide means that you have accepted the seat allocated in first round and you want to participate in the next round but the catch is that you want another branch in the same college you have been allocated seat in the first round. If you do get a seat in different branch your seat from the first round will be lost.

Go through my answer twice and make your decision.

If I will get a good college in 7th round in Josaa counselling but If I got a low college college at 1st round , When should I go for reporting , in 1st round or 7th round?

ARYAN SAGAR 8th Oct, 2020
Dear student,

If you have good chances in some low colleges in the first round of josaa counselling and last round, then according to me you should wait till last round.
Because if you get a good college then the opportunities will be more wider in respect of jobs as more companies will come and you have a better chances of getting good placements. Also you will get a very good study exposures as many good rankers will come there amd your competing efficiency will be increased.
But if you get a low college then you cannot get that much exposure in every aspect of your four year's life. Also you will be in between low rankers so, your efficiency will automatically decreased and also you will not get a good environment.

So, if there is a sure chance that you will get college in the seventh round counselling of josaa, then you should wait for the last round and then you should go for the reporting centre, otherwise it would be better that you take colleges between first and seventh round.

i got a seat in josaa and i complete process and pay admission partial fee payment 20000(sc;st;pwd) so what next step in josaa?

DrTeeth 17th Nov, 2020

These are the steps you have to do to complete your counselling and admission procedure:

  1. JoSAA Counselling Registration 2020
  2. Choice filling and locking of choices
  3. Mock seat allotment
  4. Announcement of seat allotment result
  5. Payment of seat acceptance fees
  6. Reporting of candidates at reporting centres
  7. Confirmation of admission by allotted institute

You will have to log in to download your seat allotment lette r and pay the seat acceptance fees of Rs 35000 (15000 for reserved candidates).

Then you will visit your institute (report to the allotted institute) for document verification. Carry your original documents (and copies) with you. The institute will then issue acknowledgement letter post document verification. Candidates must note that it is compulsory to report at the reporting centres for documents verification within dates specified in allotment letter failing which the admission will get cancelled.
