Hello there
Good to see that you've completed your class 12th and now you're eligible to do this degree course as this what the minimum eligibility criteria this course asks.
Now coming to your question if you don't want to give JEE then also some other entrance exams are there. One of the most famous and relevant I'm telling you is IMU CET exam for marine. The examination is conducted every year for the various Marine courses such as nautical science, naval architecture, DNS and much more.
From my own point of view I want to suggest you some things regarding these courses is that after doing these you may have to wait for getting a job as the demand and also need of these courses are decreasing day by day. But it's too good as every 6 out of 10 engineers is doing hard for getting a good job.
Wishing you best luck!
Thank you!
