Can a mechatronics engineer work in CS job? I am really confused on picking between mecatronics or CSfor bachelors of engoneering. I want to go in mechatronics and also because mechatronics engineering also consist of CS but someone told me that jobs opportunities for CS are more that mechatronics.

Hi
In simple words you are confused between mechantronics and computer science. So currently seeing the shift towards digital world computer technology has become essentially important. There are whole lot of opportunities in every field. Computer engineering is most opted subject. The CSE professionals can work as a computer programmer, data scientist, systems analyst, software developer, hardware engineer, IT consultant, system engineer, system designer, IT specialist, networking engineer, database administrator, web developer, mobility tester, e-commerce specialist, programmer, software tester.

Now talking about mechatronics. Though there is no specific data to track employment for mechatronics professionals, in the recent years there has been increasing demand for mechatronics professionals. About 5% growth in terms of employment in comparison to electrical engineers.

IITs for mechatronics in india

divya 1st Oct, 2021

Hello Koushik,

I assume your question is regarding a Btech course foe mechatronics engineering in India. Unfortunately IITs do not offer a separate department for mechatronics yet but the subject is widely present across top IITs and there is a dedicated lab and research center for it too. It majorly comes under Mechanical Engineering as a core subject. Some NITs do offer mechatronics as a branch and you can check those out.

  • NIT Warangal
  • NIT Hamirpur
  • NIT Rourkela

Good Luck. Hope it helps!!

is this college good for either mechatronics or electronics and comms ? what about college life and freedom things ?

Aman Mishra 1st Oct, 2021

Hello,

As i can see that your answer seems to be little incomplete as you have not mentioned the name of any particular college but as assuming that you have been asking about PEC than definitely one of the good choice for future studies as it has a good academics and also in terms of Infrastructure it is well developed and has a student friendly environment which is a very positive experience for students and in terms of selecting branch so that firstly depends upon your choice because your interest will only help you in learning that branch and talking about popularity than Computer branch is currently the most popular branch and has a great competition and than Electronic and Mechatronics hence, you can choose wisely according to your preference.

Thank you..
