Yes, you can appear in JEE Main 2018 but you can't take seat in NIT you will be eligible for only IITs.

Is it right decision to take metallurgy in nit compared to taking ECE in Comedk colleges??

It depends which NIT you are talking. But if you are getting ECE branch in COMED K top colleges then it would be the best option for you. You can go for ECE.
