National Institute of Technology Rourkela
dear aspirant,
The thing is that, if you get a seat in CSAB , the seat allotted to you in JOSAA will be forfeited. If you don’t get a seat there, the seat allotted to you in JOSAA will be retained. If you have been allotted a seat in first 7 rounds and you have accepted it ( by submitting the required documents and paying the seat acceptance fee) then you do not need to report at an RC after 7th round.So.. if you dont report the RC after last round of councelling then your Alotted seat would be cancelled and you're out from the jossa process…
hope it helped.
Hi Prasoon! There is no need of that if you are from Bihar then you can get the affidavit made from Bihar itself and simply submit the documents where asked. You don't to apply for the affidavit in rourkela just because you are joining NIT rourkela.
Hi Aspirant
NIT Rourkela is one of the premier engineering institutes in the nation.
The Basic Science courses like chemistry, physics and mathematics in NIT Rourkela are good but not the best in the nation.
If you are really interested in pursuing a career with basic sciences then only you should consider joining NIT Rourkela in these departments. But the research work of institutes like IISER and NISER is far better than that at NIT Rourkela.
Hope this helps and All the best.

NIT warangal isn't as good in this branch
Hello Rohith!
Fees of NIT Rourkela is around 124000 Rs.But for SC,ST and PH students fees there is a relaxation for Tution fees .So your fees is around 40000 -50000 Rs .For more details you can visit to the college website.
Hope it answer your concerns.
Feel free to ask if you have any other queries..
Hey !
Considering the first part of your question , i would say that food you get there is good. You will get different varieties of foods like chhole bhature , paneer dishes etc. And also on some special occasions like annual functions or freshers , you will get more special food. So , you will not face any problem of food there. But now , if i come to second part of your question then , i would say that you have to adjust with the food as the food that is served there is typical north indian food. And you will get south indian food only occasionally. And as you are going to stay there for four years , you will learn adjusting . Soon , you will start loving north indian food.
Hope it helps!
For SC ,ST and handicap students the fee per sem is 34000(no tution fee) irrespective of their parents annual income
For general and OBC students it depends on their parents annual income (mother +father)
Annual income above 5lacs(or) exactly 5lac:-
Per 1sem(96,500)
Hostel and other fee 34000
Tution fee 62500
Annual income between 1lac and 5lac:-
Tution fee 21000
Annual income exactly below 1lac (exactly below 1lac not 1lac)
No tution fee
At the beginning(for 1st semester) they ask some extra fee of 16000 irrespective of caste and annual income for processing your applications. But the fee for remaining 7 semesters is as shown above
so, basically , about 1.25-1.75 lakhs per annum for a general quota student of all branches including ECE
