Hello Raj,
The fees for NIT Rourkela depends on your caste and your family annual income.
Forvsc,St and pwd person the fees per sem is 34000(no tution fee) .
For general and obc students it depends on their family annual income.
Annual income equal to or above 5 lacs
Tution fee -62500
Hostel and other fee-34000
Per sem total=96500
Annual income less than 5 lacs and more than 1 lac
Tution fee-21000
Annual income less than 1 lac
Hostel and other fee -34000
No tution fee.
At the time of admission they ask for some extra fee of about 16000 irrespective of the caste for processing and some miscellaneous charges.
But the fees for remaining 7 semester is shown above.
Hope this helps.
If any queries please feel free to ask.
All the best!!!
Regards.
I see that you want to do BTech from CSE or EEE in NIT Rourkela. It's a good choice.
But now everything depends on your rank how much rank you get. And are you eligible or not. You must have specified your category and whether you are hs or os.
I will take that you are general category and os. Previous year closing rank in round 7 for CSE was around 3600 and that for EEE was around 9000. So see this rank. If you are under this rank then you will get a seat in NIT Rourkela. If not , then try for other colleges or change your branch.
Hope it helps.
Thank you.
I see that you are interested in pursuing physics and do higher studies in this subject.
You want to do integrated msc from nit Rourkela . You got rank of 26647 in JEE mains.
As you have not mentioned your category and whether you are home state or other state. So I will consider you as a general candidate and if you are other state , then according to previous year Ranking you won't get a seat in nit Rourkela , round 7 closed around 20000 rank.
But if you are home state , then you can get this seat in nit Rourkela.
Thank you
You know that this rank is too much. And although you are PWD , physically disabled so there are courses in which you won't get admission , but there are courses in which you can yet your rank is too much. 2394 in pwd Category is too much. There is one branch , biomedical engineering . In which you might get admission.
But I think that you won't opt for it. So it's better you try some other colleges.
I suggest you to go to josaa website and see the closing rank of different colleges . It will help you in deciding which college you want to go.
Nandini,

hello prateek
based on your obc rank which is 7647 it is very difficult for you to get nit trichy or suratkal.
But you can get lower branches of rourkela like food, biomedical and some other branches.
but dont loose hope as there is a special round in which you may get better branches at nit rourkela and also mettalurgy at nit rourkela
all the best
Hello
I see that you are comparing BITS PILANI (DUBAI) and NIT Rourkela. One is private institution and another government.
There will be several factors on which you need to discuss before joining.
Fees is the most. BITS being a private institution it will obviously have higher fees than NIT Rourkela and not higher very much higher. Living in Dubai is also not easy.
Comes the branch. Which branch you are getting and which branch you want to take.
See if money isn't your problem then many will say to do BTech from BITS. But I would suggest you to do BTech from Rourkela.
Afterwards if you want to go foreign for high studies then crack GRE and go to Germany.
Afterall it's your career and you need to decide what is better for you.
Hello,
See you are asking about two branches which are completely different. But if I consider what different people told me and what I think.
Electronics and instrumentation engineering is getting bigger day by day. Nowadays even in many companies you are given training on instrumentation engineering , so that you will apply it in your works. So it's better to have a knowledge from before.
CSE it's all time favourite. College is also not bad but lower than nit Rourkela. Yet CSE has good placement records. So if you have passion for CSE then go for it....
Hello ,
I see that you are comparing NIT Rourkela and NIT Surathkal.
According to NIRF obviously NIT Surathkal is having better rank than NIT Rourkela . So it will be better . But now it comes to rank . If you are having rank in which you can get better branch in NIT Surathkal then you should go for it.
It totally depends on you. If you are preferring college above branch then go for it. Or you can go for better branch.
