I got 45.7.. percentile in jee mains jan 2020 ! which college i get now ? and what to do next?? plz guide me ?

manisha.gupta 22nd Jan, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

The exact prediction would be difficult regarding the qualifying cutoff & admission possibilities based on your percentile. But this score seems not enough to qualify the exam as a general category & chances are also less to get NITs, IIITs & GFTIs.

You can try for the state level counselling. To know your admission possibilities in state level counselling you can use JEE Main College Predictor tool.

Good Luck!

Is rungta engineering college is better than NIT Silchar?

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 25th Feb, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

I'll recommend you to join NIT Silchar and not Rungta Engineering college because the exposure and placements at NIT silchar are far better than Runglta engineering college.

NIT Silchar has a great placement record with more than 86% of B.Tech students getting placed every year, with an average annual CTC of INR 6.25 LPA and the highest package as INR 32.5 LPA.

All the best

where will i stand if Ill be at nit silchar whith mechanical? I mean among all the people who have opted for engineering what will be my repute?

Sai Sri Nandan Ch 25th Feb, 2020

Hello,

Before beginning, check out this link about placements scenario in NIT SIlchar.

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/nit-silchar-placement-report-2018

Every year lakhs of students pass out in India with an Engineering Degree but only few get into jobs.

IITs and NITs are among the premier institutes in India regardless of the campus. The average package in the link was around 6 lakhs which is very big for a fresh job seeker.

Regardless of the university you choose or the branch, your personal interest and capabilities matter a lot to decide your repute.

As far as academics are concerned, NIT Silchar with Mechanical can give you ample opportunities to be among those few who have good starting package and a degree which you can boast of anywhere in the world.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Sarthak Dhiman 25th Feb, 2020

Hello Aspirant.

As per your rank, it's extremely difficult for you to get civil branch in NIT kurukshetra. So your options must be Mechanical in NIT Silchar. As per the statics Mechanical branch has good placement rate at NIT silchar as compared to civil branch at NIT Kurukshetra.

Also silchar has great campur full of Lucious greenery.

Sir what percentile do I require for getting into some good branch in nit silchar. I am from Assam and I am under EWS category (female)?

Sunil Kumar singh 28th Jan, 2020

Hi dear,

Sice you belong from home state as well as female quota. Your ews category rank should be around 24k that means your general rank should be around 200000. For getting a rank under 200000 your percentile should be around 80. You can check cutoff rank of all branches
