NSIT and DTU have reservations for the categories other than general. They do have a certain percentage reserved for your category hence ews rank is considered.
As per your rank,it could be difficult for you to get admission in either of the college in any of the branch. The
NSUT is one of the best engineering college of India . Every students wishes to get admission in this college but here approx 75% seats are reserved for Delhi candidate which rises the cut off for the outsider students. Here is cut off the NSUT of 4 round general candidate.
Private colleges acquire funds from different sources. While govt. Colleges are funded by the state govt. Private colleges do not get any funds from state govt. They rely on fees gained by the students of the college and some other contributions. Facilities are somehow better in private universities than govt.

As you must be knowing NSUT is a TIER 1 University, so, you need a quite good percentile for geting into NSUT. If you are of general category then 99+ percentile is needed for the same. If you want CSE branch then 99.5+ percentile is needed.
First of all don't do a mistake most of the students does. They apply for only jee mains and then go to any private college.
Apart from filling jee mains form, apply for other universities also.
