Is the NTA score and percentile same?

Abhinandhinee 25th Mar, 2021

Hello.

Yes, the NTA score and percentile are the same thing. The National Testing Agency provides you with your NTA score (percentile) for each subject and the overall percentile on the score card. The National Testing Agency (NTA) uses the given formula to calculate percentile:

100*Candidates who appeared in the Session with raw score EQUAL OR LESS than the given candidate/ Total candidates who have appeared in the Session

I hope this helps.

my nta score in feb was 61.01 and in march 53.17 please guide how to take it to 99 percentile and how to cover my syllabus in this time

Ashish Kumar Verma 26th Mar, 2021

Hello Dear,

To score 99 percentile you need to score 130-140 marks. first you must solve last 15 years jee mains papers. Evaluate how many marks you are getting in last year papers.

  • For MATHEMATICS if you solve EXEMPLAR textbooks(11th, 12th) along with the usual NCERT textbooks plus one more objective textbook(Arihant, FIITJEE study material ,etc.), you will be able to do 80–90% of the paper very well.
  • PHYSICS if you solve HC Verma along with the EXEMPLAR and NCERTtextbooks, you will be able to do 75–80% of the paper very well.
  • CHEMISTRY in JEE Main & Advanced is set directly from NCERT. So, if you read both the 11th and 12th NCERT textbooks of Chemistry religiously, you should be able to handle the JEE paper astonishingly

Anurag Khanna 25th Mar, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

According to the mentioned percentile your CRL rank is expected to be in the range of 238154 - 267720, you can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

Or

You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

So on such rank and category you have very little chances to get any of the NITs/IIITs/CFTIs, so I would recommend you to either go for state counselling for state GFTIs or for private colleges or you can prepare for further attempts of JEE-Main and to help you in your preparation we have some resources which you can access from the link given below :-

https://learn.careers360.com/jee-main-coaching/?utm_source=%20QnA

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the official website of JOSAA as given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your marks, category, and state you can use JEE-Main College Predictor:-

You can also check out the JEE-Main 2021 qualifying cut-off (expected) for JEE-Advance 2021 from the link given below :-

Hello Aspirant,

See if you had submitted your answer as 300 and also in the answer key released by NTA for JEE-Main 2021 the answer is same the you will obviously be rewarded with 4 marks. Let me make you more clear with the exam pattern for JEE-Main 2021 for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is described below :-

> In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.

> All question will be of 4 marks and in MCQs there will be negative marking of (-1) on incorrect attempt.

Paper 2 :-

In JEE-Main 2021, paper 2 there will be total 82 question out of which you have to attempt only 77 questions for 100 marks (20 questions from Mathematics section will be of MCQs and 5 questions will have answers to be filled as a numerical value out of 10.
