Hello Manya,

There are certain rules which have to be followed by every student if they want to get Seat in Government Medical College under State Quota (85%) Counselling.

First of all the most important document to become eligible for State Quota (85%) Counselling is a valid Domicile Certificate. Next comes the caste certificate or EWS Certificate.

Please remember, to get admission under State Quota (85%) Counselling, your EWS Certificate must be made from State Government only. If your EWS Certificate is made from Uttar Pradesh, then that certificate will not be valid for Punjab's State Quota (85%) Counselling .

If you want to get admission in Punjab's Government Medical College, then, you must have to obtain a valid EWS Certificate from Punjab State Government . You also have an option to go for MCC AIQ (15%) Counselling, because through that you will get admission in Punjab's Government Medical College but only if you have Central EWS Certificate with you ready. To get admission under All India Quota (15%), you must have Central EWS Certificate . To get this Certificate you have to visit your nearby Tehsil Office of your area.

NTA has declared NEET (UG) 2022 Results on its official website on 7th September, 2022 .

Thank You.

420 marks in punjab general category get addmission inn mbbs in govt quote 2022

Aakanksha 29th Aug, 2022
Hi aspirant
No. At this score of 420, and that too from general category it is impossible for you to fetch a government MBBS seat in a government medical college of your state.
At this score you can expect your rank to be around 1.79-1.81 lakhs as it was in NEET 2021. However this may vary this year as it all depends on various factors like the highest score, the total number of candidates and the cut off this year.
You can predict your rank for NEET 2022 using rank predictor with the following link.

Now here is a list of all the closing ranks for various medical colleges of Punjab for UR candidates.

  • AIIMS Bathinda - 2128
  • GOVT. MEDICAL
  • COLLEGE,PATIALA - 6599
  • GOVT.MEDICAL COLLEGE,
  • AMRITSAR - 10945
  • RU GOVIND SINGH MED
  • COLL,FARIDKOT - 10598

As you can see it is impossible for you to fetch a seat in the state government medical colleges. You can opt for admission to private medical colleges of your state if your finances allow.
Here is a list of all the private medical colleges of Punjab.
  • SGRDIMSR Amritsar - Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research
  • Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Amritsar

  • Chintpurni Medical College and Hospital, Pathankot
