After the completion of bsc nursing,I want to migrate to Australia and try for the professor role in a university, what exam shall I prep , and is doing master here in India hold any validity over there..I tried searching for eligibility criteria and other stuff...but still I am not having any clarity on what to do
To become a nursing professor in Australia after completing BSc Nursing in India, you must follow two main pathways: professional registration and academic advancement.
First, you need registration with AHPRA under NMBA, which requires passing an English proficiency test (IELTS, OET, or PTE) and the Outcomes-Based Assessment, including NCLEX-RN and OSCE.
An Indian M.Sc Nursing is recognised and useful, but for university teaching role a PhD is required. Additionally, gaining 3–5 years of clinical experience, obtaining a Certificate in Training and Assessment, and building a strong research and publication record are essential for progressing into academic roles.
