Yes you can do so. If you hv applied for eca/sport category that doesn't stop you from claiming admission based on completely in merit.
You can take admission based on merit then want for the eca/sports results in case you get a better College you can change if you wish.
(Would like to tell you that in case you take admission with e a/sports quota then everyday participation in practice sessions will be compulsory.)
You can choose any society or sports activity of your choice after admission based on merit basis.
