There are certain programs like B Sc, BBA, BCom, BA for which lpunest is not mandatory. You can take admission without taking the test.

You will have to qualify LPUNEST, but afcos you will get decent amount of scholarship if you have 80% in 12th class. To get exemption from LPUNEST, candidate must have minimum 90% aggregate in 12th class or 90 percentile in JEE Mains.

Depending on the  eligibility criteria, there is direct admission to some courses and in some its mandatory to qualify the LPUNEST exam and in some, LPUNEST exam + Interview. Even if you are getting direct admission in the branch you desire to opt, you can give the LPUNEST exam for scholarship. If you are eligible for more than one scholarship, only one scholarship you will get is the maximum one. Your question is bit incomplete. You should have mentioned the course as well.

At LPU, you can get admission on the basis of your scores in class 12th, but in certain courses  (such as BBA, BCA, Hotel Managemnt, B.Sc  in different specializations and many more )  in which there is no entrance exam. LPUNEST is not mandatory for such courses. However, you can still give LPUNEST for scholarship purpose.

But there are certain courses, in which it is mandatory to  qualify entrance exam, such as Engineering.

However,During this period of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, to support prospective students (candidates) to apply for admissions , direct online/remote admissions (subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria) process has been started.
