You can get admission without LPUNEST but not in all programs. For most of the commerce and engineering programs LPUNEST is mandatory. Well, it depends upon the programme you would like to take admission in. What eligibility criteria it follows.

If the eligibility says subject to qualifying LPUNEST then you have to clear the entrance exam. In addition to qualifying it also provides you a good amount of scholarship if you score well.

In case the eligibility of the programme says Pass or only states some percentage criteria, only then LPUNEST will not be a mandate to qualify. Still in this case, candidate has an option to appear for LPUNEST just for the sake of scholarship purpose.

LPUNEST is an entrance exam for eligibility for B.Tech/MBA/PhD/M.Sc Agriculture programs and for other courses it is  just for scholarship.

For programs other than B.Tech/MBA/PhD/M.Sc Agriculture programs, last date of LPUNEST is not relevant. In all these type 2 programs (Other than B.Tech/MBA/PhD/ M.Sc Agriculture programs), taking admission before 30 ^th April is  important. Whatever scholarship/fee structure is being available right now, it may change after 30 ^th April. So apply for scholarship Test (LPUNEST). Test will be conducted later once the prevailing situation permits but if you do not take admission in current phase (i.e. upto 30 ^th April) then you may not get this scholarship later.
