Hi Tanu, yes, you can if you fall under the following.
Gate Eligibility:
B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharm.
1. B. Arch
2. B Sc. (Research)/ B.S.- Bachelors degree in Science (Post-Diploma/ 4 years after 10+2)
M. Sc./ M.A./MCA or equivalent
3. Int. M.E./ M.Tech.
4. Int. M.E./ M.Tech. or Dual Degree(after Diploma or 10+2)
5. Int. M Sc / Int. B.S.-M.S.
6. Professional Society Examinations (equivalent to B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch.)
You can write GATE in CS and then take biotech later.

Can you tell me how? Doesn't bioinformatics come under biotech,so shouldn't I be writing biotech instead? Please clarify.

Yes Tanu you are right you should directly write biotech paper that would be beneficial.
