Can we go and apply for a specific subject in du if we match the cutoff criteria but haven't registered for that subject in the application?

It's compulsory to register yourself for the course. Without application, the authorities would not accept you even if you match the requirements. So, do register yourself.

It is great that you have match the cut off but I want to tell you something that if you haven't apply for that subject during the form-filling process then you won't be able to apply for that particular subject for admissions.
During the process of form filling the student apply for the desired departments in which they are interested to get admission but at that moment if you did not then there is no chance of getting admissions in that particular department and subject for graduation.
