Dear student,
The option entry process in KCET 2025 is a key part of the counselling round. Once you’ve completed your KCET exam and results are out, your first step is to attend document verification at the KEA help center. After verification, you’ll get a verification slip and a secret key — both are needed to log in for option entry.
To start filling your preferences, go to the official KEA website and use your CET number along with the secret key to log in. Once logged in, you can enter your preferred colleges and courses. There’s no limit to the number of options you can choose, so it’s better to list many to increase your chances. Make sure to arrange them based on your priority — the higher a course is on your list, the more likely you are to get it.
KEA will conduct a mock allotment round to show you which seat you might get based on your current choices. Use this chance to adjust your preferences — you can reorder, add, or remove options as needed.
Once you’re confident with your list, you must lock your final choices before the last date. After locking, no changes are allowed.
Finally, KEA will release the actual seat allotment results. If you get a seat, download the allotment letter, pay the admission fee, and report to the college within the given timeline.
Once your KCET 2025 rank and result are announced, visit a designated KEA centre with all original documents such as the admit card, tenth and twelfth standard mark sheets, study certificate, and category or income certificates. After successful verification, you will receive a verification slip containing your CET number, a high-security user ID, and a password or secret key.
From early July, KEA will open the option entry portal on the official website cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Log in using your CET number and secret key. You can enter unlimited choices by selecting combinations of colleges and courses in the order of your preference. Save and lock your choices before the deadline.
KEA will release a mock allotment based on your merit, category, and selected options. The Round 1 provisional seat allotment will be published in August. Round 2 option entry will be available in September, during which you can delete, rearrange, or add new preferences. An extended round may also be conducted for final seat adjustments.
