Cut off for BSc from good DU or any other good university out of 750 MARKS
For BSc (Hons) in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics in top DU colleges like Hindu College, Hansraj, Miranda House or St. Stephen's College, you should score at least 610 to 660 marks out of 750. For BSc in Life Sciences or Biological Sciences, you should score around 580 to 630 marks. For BSc Programme courses (not honours), a score of 540 to 600 marks is usually safe.
If you belong to the General category, you will need higher marks compared to reserved categories like OBC, SC, ST or EWS. Also, popular courses like Physics or Maths have higher cut-offs than less demanded subjects.
Most DU colleges now take admission through CUET exam. The cut-offs are usually based on CUET percentile, but if we convert them into marks out of 750, then a good score would be around 630 to 700 for top colleges.
Other good universities like BHU and JNU also take admission through CUET. For BSc in BHU, you may need 550 to 620 marks. For BSc-MSc integrated courses in JNU, the safe score is 600 to 670 marks. In universities like Jadavpur or Mumbai University, admission is based on 12th board marks, usually needing 80 to 90 percent.
