Admissions in JMI take place on the basis of JEE mains rank but you have to register for the councelling process.

No you don't have to qualify JEE MAINS. But you should hold the diploma in an engineering stream recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of 3-4 years of duration with at least 55% marks.

For admission in JMI in B.Tech candidates should follow the given eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must have passed Sr. Sec. School Certificate (10+2)/Intermediate or its equivalent from a recognized Board.
- Must passed qualifying exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects.
- Qualifying Marks:Minimum of 55% marks in PCM.
- Must passed the qualifying exam in 2017, 2018 or should be appearing in 2019.
- Candidates should be diploma holder in Engineering stream recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of 3 or 4 year duration with at least 55% marks.
- Entrance exam: JEE Main paper-I
- Candidates should not be less than 17 years on October 1 of the admission year.
