How I get admission in this college

Following steps are common to all candidates applying for admission to BITS :

• Apply for BITSAT (BITS Admission Test). The application form for same are available online usually after first week of January.Duly note your application number and passwordBe sure to check eligibility criteria for admission at http://bitsadmission.com/Eligibility_Criteria.aspx (These are subject to change without prior notice) After all applications are recieved, exam center, test date and time allotment starts. Login and select the test center, test date and time.
• Candidates can download Admit Card starting from probably first week of April. (Actual dates are announced on the official website)
• Appear for BITSAT. (BITSAT score is displayed immediately after you submit paper)
• Students who appear for the BITSAT and wish to get admission must submit an application (online) before prescribed date usually 30th June.This application contains your 12th marks and preferences to various programmes on different campuses.
• The Admit and wait lists are released beginning around 1st July. Depending on your score, preferences and available seats, you are either given seat in a programme or kept on waitlist.(This seat though is temporary and the programme offered might change in subsequent Admit lists)
• You must pay 1st sem fee + admission fee if offered that temporary seat in first Admit list and just admission fee if kept on waitlist. This is to keep your name in further lists. If not paid, you become ineligible for admission.The course offered might upgrade in further Admit lists 2 and 3
• The campus and course offered after 3rd Admit list is provisional but you must report at that campus by a given date usually 30th July. Required documents and photocopies are mentioned in instructions. Read and arrange them carefully.Following procedure is at campus and might not be exactly same for all three campuses :
• After reaching the campus, you are required to report at the registration area where you are provided your Hostel room, your BITS ID number and instructions for further procedures.
• Your course and campus are not yet final. You are provided a form for "Freezing" the course and campus. If you are happy with the course and campus you got, you can wish to select Freeze campus in the form.Else you can keep the option for upgrade in course and campus alive by not freezing the course and campus. Then your name will be considered for 'sliding up' in Admit list 4, released soon after.If you are allotted a different campus in the 4th Admit list (because you had it above the course and campus you got after 3rd list in your preferences) you must report at that campus by 8th August or so, as asked.
• Next day, you report at prescribed venue for registration to first semester and to get an Admit Slip.It involves a small interaction with 2 faculties (Don't worry, nothing academic and not a serious interview). They'll put a stamp of 'ADMIT' on your Admit slip.
• Registration for first semester and submission of documents and forms.
• You must carry your original documents (10th, 12th marksheets, passing certificate, etc) along with photocopies.
• Following this you line up for clicking of your photo and signature for your ID card. Done.
