How is nit Nagpur in all factors and I have heard that new students face ragging there and teachers are also do ragging?? Is it true??

1. Beautiful campus. I have talked to people from IITB and other NITs. Many of them have complemented our institute on the natural beauty. I am sure that most of the present VNITians also may not know this, but our insti is a protected bird sanctuary, with many rare avian species being found here. We have a large playground, a big auditorium, two banks, night canteens, day canteens, music room, student activity centers etc. We even have a MiG on the campus! I bet most instis cannot boast about that. We have a large library and a computer center too. We also have an in-house health centre.

2. Strong alumni base. We have a strong alumni association-VNIT AA. The present collector of Nagpur is an alumnus of our insti. The people at the alumni association are very helpful and cooperative.

3. Events. A variety of events take place in the insti around the year. Some of them are-

4. Good academic standing. I cannot really speak about other departments, but Mechanical and Electronics are considered to be good, as far as academics is considered. We are ranked 11th in the nation by Times Engineering Survey-i.e. the best NIT in India. Try to maintain a CGPA above 9 while at VNIT. While it may not matter much in your later life, a low CGPA certainly closes doors to many opportunities for you.
