How is siddhaganga college of Engineering placed compared to college in Bangalore ?

Let me just start off with saying SIT is no IIT/NIT, it is an average private college and should be judged like one, so people comparing it with those colleges are just comparing wrong things. That being said it is one of the good ones in its own domain as far as the studies and the atmosphere goes.

Infrastructure : The college is huge, spread over 63 acres, SIT is one of the best colleges in terms of infrastructure. Almost each department has its own building with labs having good enough PCs for your studies. but as it is with every technology it updates at a very rapid pace and even a 5 year old computer seems obsolete and there’s just not enough funding at the college to update the equipment that often.

Studies : SIT doesn’t like to make your studies easy. Mandatory 85% attendance in all subjects or you fail. Teachers are okay, some know what they’re doing most don’t (but from what i hear this is the case in every college). But the college makes you study even if you don’t want to, and you’ll appreciate it later. I know i do. I have been fortunate enough to have been worked with many IITians and NITians in my career and never once did i feel that they learned something which i sorely lack.

Extra : SIT has a lot of clubs for almost everything from drama, debates, programming, robotics, racing (making the vehicle not driving it on race tracks), aeronautics, dance and much more. You’ll have a lot of ways to improve yourself other than studies. Do join them

Placements : The most important part of the college life :P, placements are okay for non-CS branches, CS branches placements are really good with companies like Samsung, VMWare, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, Intuit, Redbus visiting them. If you’re taking CS/IS, you’ll be happy with the placements as long as you don’t mess up your studies. From what i hear the placements only are getting better for the CS/IS branches.Siddaganga, the throne of learning. Placements: I heard from the seniors that your talent is all that matters at the end and the companies came to our college for placement understood that. Many of my seniors got selected. Some in wipro, many in TCS, etc. Well, until now its been a good experience for me. I look further for my upcoming years with great enthusiasm. And especially not only the bookish stuff but I also enjoyed a lot playing sports at my college. The staff is supportive. Infrastructure: Our college is one of the most known places in Karnataka. The atmosphere here is something different and very good. Our building has a diversity of students. Our building has engineering students, be students, architecture students, and they all create a refreshing mood in our big canteen area. The college canteen is one of its kind here.
