I am pursuing M.A. music (1st year) privately, I want to know whether I can join a college and be a regular student from 2nd semester?
Yes, you can pursue regular college in 2nd semester but with same course & same subjects.
However in some cases, it also depends upon the college or university policies. So depending upon from where you pursuing the open degree and from where you want to purse regular degree, the answer may differ.
If you are pursuing open degree from DU and wish to pursue regular degree in a college of DU itself, it will be easier for you to do so.

It is completely your choice to be a regular student or do the course as distance learning or privately. Morever it depends on your university.
As for my suggestion, IGNOU is the best univ to pursue the course as distance learning programme. As in case of Punjab Univ they have ameded this rule from last two years. So yes, you can do it there too.
