Hi Lareb
First, you should understand what interests you. Biotechnology is not just an option for biology students, it is a different field altogether when compared to MBBS. Pursuing MBBS means you want to cure the illness whereas pursuing Btech in Biotechnology implies finding the cure for the illness. Apart from your interest, yes, there are a lot of factors which needs to be considered like the exorbitant fees of private medical colleges and with the score of 330, the only option left is of private medical colleges. The competition for MBBS admission is increasing with each passing day as the ratio of the number of students who wants to pursue medicine and the number of seats available is huge.
However, with all these factors in consideration, there is nothing wrong in taking a year gap and working hard towards what you really want to do. To obtain admission in a government medical college through All India Quota you will at least need a score of 570 and for a State Quota seat, it depends on which state you belong to. In states like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the cutoffs are lower usually around 480 and 450 respectively whereas for other states a score of 520 and above is required.
Hope it helps! All the best!
It totally depends on your interest & capability. If your target is only to get a decent college for Medical programme & you believe on your self that you can do better next time to scre well in the exam then you can go for it as with this score the chances are there only for the Deemed & private colleges.
If you want to go for Biotech & have the option of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida then as per the analyzing report of Careers360 Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida has AAAA rating which means very good. The rating is based on the reserch of the college based on the placement, Faculty & Industry exposure etc. You can also check the genuine reviews of the college with the given below link.
