i have 78% in 12th board but i am NOT in top 20 percentile of my board ,am i eligible for iit,nit admission?

Ya you can take drop and give the exam next year with all your efforts.
It was 75% required to give jee mains, but you already have 78% so dont worry just take drop and make a great comeback.
