Both universities are equally good, you choose either of them. In terms of semester system the duration is short hence you hv to cover a lot in short span of time whereas in annual mode you hv quite a lot time to understand and digest whatever is taught for the course but obviously since you will be having one exam, the pressure will be more.
Both honestly both are equivalent.

I am extremely sorry I don't have much knowledge regarding bhu, but can give you a fair insight for du.
DU will enable to interact with all the best personalities you can probably think of, the exposure you get here, helps you to built up a remarkable personality. The classes here are not limited to theories, it is also about character building. You have ample of opportunities to interact,and express yourself.
Regarding hostel facility, some Colleges have their own hostel and otherwise DU has a centralized hostel facility for outstation students. The hostel fees varies in between 10-20k.
