I have got rank 7 (serial no 9) in du BEd.Kindly tell about dormitory in CIE Delhi. Thanks. After what time hostel will be allowed

• The Central Institute of Education set up two hostels, Shree Bhawan for women and Shakti Bhawan for men in 1950.
• Shree Bhawan has four seater, three seater, two seater and single rooms to accommodate the pupil teachers, the students of the Master’s programme and scholars of the Doctoral programmes.
• Shakti Bhawan has three dormitories and one double seater to accommodate the students of various categories.
• Shree Bhawan has 23 seats in all and Shakti Bhawan has 24 seats. To ensure privacy of the residents, visitors are not entertained in the dormitories & rooms.
• The candidate should be a full time bonafide student of the Central Institute of Education.
• Hostel accommodation is not given to any part-time students as they are employed, and the hostels are subsidized by the University.
• Admission to candidate is offered on the basis of merit, need, and distance from home. A certificate of good conduct and character is also a requirement.
• Fresh applications are to be submitted in consequent years, if the resident joins a higher programme of study in the Institution.
• Applications for admission to the hostels should be made on the prescribed form available on cie.du.ac.in. The form can be downloaded, printed, filled and submitted to the hostel office.
• The admission will be made as per rules on the basis of interviews to gauge the requirement and need of the applicant.
• Admission to the Hostel will be made subsequent to admission to the Department. The lists of candidates to be interviewed and take admitted to the hostel would be notified.
• Candidates are required to pay the admission and other charges within the notified stipulated dates.

The fees payable by each resident are as follows:

• (A) Mess Charges: Rs. 2500/- per month (to be paid quarterly)The resident has to pay three months advance mess fee.
• (B) Maintenance Charges (paid only one time): Room Rent, Electricity & Water Charges, Visitor’s Room Charges, Resident Facility Fund, Crockery & Utensils, Medical Provision Charges, Furniture & Fixtures, Annual Charges
• (C) Deposit: Rs. 5000/- as caution will be returned to them when they leave the hostel, there are no damages to be deducted from them.
• (D) Hostel Development Fund: charged from the residents at the time of admission.
