I want to apply for EWS certificate. My parents have no property in India and are living in my grandma's property. Can you suggest any link or info stating that her property should not obstruct the issuance of EWS certificate by the Nagar Nigam?
Hello Aspirant,
The EWS reservation eligibility is for those general category aspirants whose gross annual family income is less than 8 lakhs. The income sources which are considered here include salary, income from business, individual professions, agriculture income, income from rent or any other sources that are registered by the government. People, whose families have less than 5 acres of land, are also eligible for EWS reservation. The EWS quota criteria clearly state that one is eligible for this reservation if their family possesses agricultural land less than or equal to five acres. This land can be in the name of the family head or anyone from the applicant’s main family. By main family ,they mean , only direct relations. For people below 18 years old, parents and siblings will come under main family and for people above 18 years it can either be parents and siblings or married spouse if they are married. Ancestral property will not be counted. So you need not worry , if you satisfy all the criteria for EWS, then you will be eligible for the same.
These are the main criteria :
Candidate's annual family income must be less than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum.
Candidate's family must not own more than 5 acres of agriculture land.
The residential flat area should be below 1000 sq ft.
The residential plot's area should be below 100 square yards if in a notified municipality sector.
The residential plot's area should be below 200 square yards if in a non-notified municipality sector.
To see the official document regarding EWS certificate eligibility ,kindly visit the official national government services portal of your state. You can even directly verify the same in the respective government office from where you are supposed to get your certificate.
All the best
