Admissions to DU depend on the courses you wish to pursue and whether the said course is merit-based or entrance based. As far as the merit-based courses are concerned you will be granted admission based on the different cutoff lists released by the colleges of DU. These cutoff marks will depend on the average marks and the category of reservation. As you have mentioned that you belong to SC category, with marks ranging from 80-85 % to secure an admission will not be hard. Merit-based admission considers the best of four system wherein the average marks of four best subjects including one language and one elective related to the course you wish to pursue is calculated.
In case you opt for a course that conducts admission through an entrance test you will have to attend the test and the admissions will be based on the marks scored in the test.
