In rvce banglr, 1st year how they give final grade points what are the factors that affect most on final grade point
Hello aspirant,
Absolute Grading system on 10 point scale is followed in the evaluation of student's performance in a course. a) Letter Grades: Letter grade is basically a qualitative measure (an alphabet/letter) giving the performance of a student, such as, Outstanding (S), Excellent (A), Very Good (B), Good (C), Above Average (D), Average (E) and Fail (F), based on the score. This is arrived at after the student's performance in a course, which includes both CIE and SEE. b) The range of marks for each letter grade shall be as given in the following Table 4.3 Table 4.3 Grading System Level Out standing Excellent Very Good Good Above Average Average Fail Score (Marks) Range % >=90 >=80 <90 >=70 <80 >=60 <70 >=50 <60 >=40 <50 <40 Grade S A B C D E F Grade Points 10 9 8 7 6 4 0 c) Grade Points: Depending on the letter grades assigned, a student earns certain grade points. In the 10 point grading system, that is followed, the grade points earned for different letter grades are given in Table 4.3. d) Grade point averages SGPA and CGPA: The grade points earned for each course are used further for calculating semester grade point average (SGPA) and the cumulative grade point average (CGPA), both of which being important performance indices of the student. (i) SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) is the performance index of a student in a semester and is calculated as follows. : transitional grades, in that semester.] [ (Course Credits) for all the coursesregistered by the student excluding student, excluding transitional grades, in that semester. [ (Course Credits) x (Grade Point/s)]for all the course registered by the SGPA ∑ ∑ = (ii) CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is the performance index of a student of all the previous semesters and is calculated as follows: with F & Transitional grades until that semester. [ (Course Credits)]for all the courses registered by the student excluding those excluding F & Transitional grades until that semester. [ (Course Credits) x (Grade Point/s)]for all the courses registered by the student CGPA = ∑ ∑ The SGPA and CGPA respectively facilitate the declaration of academic performance of a student at the end of the semester and the end of successive semesters.)
Thank you !
