I am from VIT, so I'll talk about it more.

VIT is one of the best choices for Computer Science if you are not able to get an admission in any of the IITs, top NITs or BITS.

You must have experienced that the entrance exam was easy to crack.
The fees isn't as high as MIT which is always a plus point.
The infrastructure and the faculty is good enough to provide you with what all you need.
There are endless numbers of clubs and chapters to join according to your choice which help a lot in the learning process.
A lot of Hack-a-thons and many such competitions keep taking place and there is good exposure and a lot of opportunities to showcase your talent.
If you are good at something, VIT promotes you at national and even international levels.
The college life isn't as happening as MIT. So clearly, if you wish to live with a lot of freedom and you have a lot of "after school" plans then VIT isn't the place.
The coursework is tiresome. Four rigorous months consist in a semester and you have to devote yourself complete if you want to be above average.
VIT placements for Computer Science students has been pretty good since the last decade. There are ample of opportunities. During the placement season, a student can sit for around 150-200 companies.
