Placement is good for Both B.Tech and M.Tech.
Coming to highest package, that depends upon the company as every year some company revises there salary structure which effect the highest package during my campus placement i got initial package of 4.85 lpa from ESCORTS Ltd. while for my immediate junior the package is 6.25 lpa from Escorts Ltd. so telling this which company will give you highest package is tricky one.
All of the Good automotive company come for placement Activity like Tata Motors, Ashok leyland, Mahindra and Mahindra, Honda, Volvo Eicher etc.
Highest Package is generally given by TATA Motors and Ashok Leyland of 9 lpa in 2013 in Automotive domain
Some oil company also come for campus placements and they also good packages.

In 2016,
109 offers were made by various companies in RVCE for Mechanical Engineering Branch.
Out of the eligible candidates, 76% were placed.
Minimum Package- 3.25 LPA
Maximum Package- 8.35 LPA
Average Package- 4.69 LPA
In 2017, for all branches,
377 offers were made for up to 4 LPA.
295 offers were made between 4 to 6 LPA.
197 offers were made between 6 to 8 LPA.
155 offers were made between 8 to 12 LPA.
50 offers were made between 12 to 14 LPA.
73 offers were made above 14 LPA.
Total 1147 offers were made in all branches.
