Yes of course!
General category students who used to miss cutoff by very less margin have now chance to utilise the EWS certificate to bag a seat. For example, if a candidate scores 500 but cutoff for general is 520 and general-EWS is 498 then he can use his ews certificate and get admission in that college. It will benefit upto an extent but not too much.
