The exam pattern of UGC NET has been announced. The December session of UGC NET is conducted by NTA. As per the notification, there is no change in UGC NET exam pattern. The pattern will remain same as July session. There will be two papers- I and II. The Paper I is general in nature intended to assess a candidates teaching/research aptitude. Paper II will be a subject selected by candidates.

The UGC NET Exam is conducted every year two times for the candidates having interest in the lectureship and Research program. There were three papers in previous years, but the Pattern has changed to two papers one for Genera Aptitude and other for other for Paper 2 for Subject.
If we talk about the Exam pattern of National Eligibility Test the Exam is conducted in two phases UGC NET Paper 1 and Paper 2. The NET Exam paper 1 is based on General Aptitude test whereas the UGC NET Paper 2 is based on Subject wise. The Subject in which you have completed master’s program.
The NET Paper 1 has 50 questions of 2 marks each whereas there is no negative marking. The Time to solve the UGC NET Paper 1 is 60 minutes.
The NET Paper 2 is based on the subject there are 100 questions in this section whereas the time limit to appear in this exam is 120 minutes. The Questions asked in this section is from the Subject that you choose while filling the Application form for UGC NET Exam and had completed the master’s program
