Choosing a branch is a personal decision, choose it according to your own interest. Do not commit the mistake of succumbing to pressure of others and peers. Take your decision yourself analyzing all the points as I said in the first line. There are ample job opportunities for people in every branch provided you pursue your degree from a institution of high repute. Some good institutions which offer tech programs and have high reputation are IITs, NITs, BITs, VIT, PEC, Thapar and LPU. Check your eligibility an selection criteria for all of them and grab the opportunity anywhere out of these. Hope this helps

Both branches are good in terms of core knowledge but placement of both the courses is low as compared to other courses like CSE AND ECE. So, if you have a choice then choose cse or ece otherwise go with civil bcz it is relatively less difficult branch than mechanical engineering and no. of vacancies (in Gov't jobs) are more in CE than ME.
