JEE Mains 2021 ( March Attempt ) Percentile = 77 Category = ST Domicile = Chhattisgarh Gender = Male Do I have any chances of getting NITs ?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 25th Mar, 2021

Hello,

Based on our JEE Main rank predictor tool the overall expected rank to be in between 235290 - 264500 .To check the overall percentile and rank you can use our JEE Main rank predictor tool: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor/

With 77 percentile you category rank will be around 50,000. Considering the previous year cut off for admission in NITs under ST category it is very difficult to get seat in NITs. You need to score minimum 92 percentile or above to have decent chances of getting seat in NITs. To check the cut off for NITs and IIITs you can click the link below

I got 90.1145 percentile in Jee mains in general category. Can any chance to take admission in NIIT Kurukshetra with any stream. Please suggest. We have domicile certificate also.

Anurag Khanna 20th Mar, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2020 then according to the percentile mentioned by you in the question your rank is expected to be in the range of 101129 - 113683, you can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

Or

You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that the closing rank for NIT Kurukshetra was 44723 for Production and Industrial Engineering branch in NIT Kurukshetra under Home state quota for General/open category. So on such rank you have quite less or almost no chances to get NIT Kurukshetra even if you have Home state quota. But yes if you improve your percentile in any further session of JEE-Main like around 96-98 then you might have a shot at NIT Kurukshetra.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your marks, category, and state you can use JEE-Main College Predictor:-

can i get reservation benefit by domicile in maharastra because im maharastra domicile but belong to tamilnadu and have a tamilnadu SC certificate should i apply for maha or tamilnadu for sc benefits ?? pls ans in detail

sahilschavans63 16th Mar, 2021
Hi aspirant,
For any competition on national level if you are showing SC certificate, then you surely get benefits, which are including all SCs at your level. But if you are heading for state level competitions or exams (which includes college selection in state) then use Tamil Nadu SC certificate. Because as compared to Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra is high in competition and colleges have higher cutoff marks than Tamil Nadu.

Can the domicile certificate of the parent issued few ago be valid now or do we need to get a new certificate

Atif Ali 14th Mar, 2021

Hello,

Domicile or residential certificate has a life long validity. You don't need a new domicile certificate unless you are migrating permanently to some other place. But still in a some states domicile certificate comes with a maximum validity period but, it's about a few states and depends upon state to state. But domicile or residential certificate comes with a minimum validity of six months. You can apply for Domicile certificate via online from your state government's concerned website or you can apply offline by visiting to your Block office, Tehsildar office etc.

Good Luck.

I am from rural Karnataka, Hyd Karnataka region, i studied in Maharashtra,My parents were studied in Karnataka,we do have own house in Karnataka as well as in Maharashtra,I am an aspirant of NEET 2022,For admission to MBBS domicile plays vital role, Pl suggest me which state domicile should i apply?

Sohamsengupta8 17th Apr, 2021

Hello Aspirant

For appearing in NEET UG exam the certificate is needed for the state in which you are permanent residence and you are permanent address on which state you have. Now you are saying that you have resident houses in Karnataka in Maharashtra. Parents lived in Karnataka and studied in Karnataka so your domicile certificate will be preferable from the state of Karnataka. The state in which you are permanent resident li and living not less than 10 years will be the state for your domicile and from this state you have to get domicile certificate to avail the opportunity of 85% state quota in NEET UG exam.

Hope this helps.
