Hi,

Anything more than 45% of total score is sufficient to get a good branch (maybe CSE) in an old IIT for an SC candidate.

I have seen SC people with AIR ~4000 getting CSE in IIT Bombay.

With scores above 300you can conveet any NIT and GFTIs for any branch.

However for IIT you need to appear for Jee advance and score below 10000 ranks.

Jee Main is accepted by NITS, IIITs and GFTIs and some private engineering colleges only.

Hey! Hi Rakesh.
See, Top 20 percentile is just the Eligibility to get into the prestigious IIT's and NIT's and is not a ranking criteria at all.
Just be sure that you have 75% in your 10+2 exam or you are in the top 20 percentile of your board.
