In order to get IITs you are advised to study really hard in terms gate preparation. IITs are the topmost institutes of India..
For this you have to be in top 500 at least . But it will be more helpful if you go for top 200.
Yes there is fees for iit college also.
But the fee is less than nit college and other private colleges. also there are scholarship based om merit that is given to talented student and whose family income is less.
