MINIMUM MARKS TO GET CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF HYDRABAD FOR MCA IN NIMCET EXAMINATION

Tanya Gupta 11th Feb, 2025

To secure admission to the University of Hyderabad (UoH) for the MCA program through the NIMCET examination, a competitive rank is essential. While specific cut-off ranks can vary annually based on factors like exam difficulty and applicant performance, aiming for a rank within the top 500 can enhance your chances of admission. This typically corresponds to a NIMCET score of approximately 380 or higher.

I have got 53 percentile in CAT, my 10th score is 67.8 , 12th - 82.5 and graduation is 7.5 SGPA. can i get a call from XISS?

kumardurgesh1802 24th Jan, 2025

Hello there,

With a 53 percentile in CAT , the chances of receiving a call from XISS (Xavier Institute of Social Service) may be limited, as their typical cutoff for CAT is generally higher than this, especially for their flagship programs like MBA or PGDM .

However, admission depends on several factors such as:

  1. Academic Profile : Your 10th (67.8%) , 12th (82.5%) , and graduation SGPA (7.5) are decent, and they can contribute positively to your application.

  2. Work Experience/Extra-curriculars : If you have any relevant work experience or strong extra-curricular achievements, it might improve your chances.

  3. Overall Application Strength : XISS also considers your overall profile, including your statement of purpose (SOP) and interview performance .

Though the CAT percentile is a key factor, you might still be considered based on your overall profile if you apply to their PGDM programs . It's always worth checking with the college directly for the specific eligibility criteria and cutoffs for the year you're applying.

I would recommend you to use CAT College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.

Hello this is Prachi here, Actually i want to ask about MCA admission in Govt. Women Polytechnic College from distance. Is this possible?

kumardurgesh1802 21st Jan, 2025

Hello Prachi,

pursuing an MCA (Master of Computer Applications) from a Government Women Polytechnic College through distance education is generally not possible , as MCA is typically offered as a full-time program requiring regular attendance.

Key Points:

  1. Check Specific College Rules :
Government Women Polytechnic Colleges usually provide diploma or technical courses, not MCA. Confirm directly with the college about the availability of MCA and its mode of delivery.

  2. Distance MCA Options :
If you’re looking for a distance MCA, consider universities like IGNOU , Sikkim Manipal University , or Annamalai University , which are recognized for their distance education programs.

  3. Eligibility for MCA :
Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria:

    • A bachelor's degree (preferably with Mathematics/Computer Science).
    • Some colleges require an entrance exam score like NIMCET or state-level exams.

If distance learning is a priority, you might want to explore universities offering AICTE-approved distance MCA programs .

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

am undergraduate from 2021 now am joining post graduation ,at my graduation time i dont have any appar id digilocker system. my problem is i create a APAAR ID choosing none, am currently pursuing MCA i did not get any registration number so i choose none .what are the porblem i faced next

Anuska Bakuly 18th Jan, 2025

Hello,

If you have created an APAAR ID and selected "none" for registration number when joining MCA, the potential issues you might face are:

  1. As you know, APAAR IDs are used to verify and track the academic records; selecting "none" would create an issue in linking your undergraduate records to the system. It may create a discrepancy or delays in verifying records.
  2. The institute requires all the proper documents, including proper linking of the APAAR ID to the undergraduate record.
  3. The digilocker will have some issues in showing a proper academic journey if APAAR ID information is incomplete.
  4. If you wish to study further, then incomplete linkage of APAAR ID will create some challenges for you in the near future.

I have non-technical bachelor degree which is arts but I am currently doing MCA. Bachelor degree must be techin but I dont have that. Can I apply for Gate Data Science And Artificial Intelligence exam (DA)??

gitika yadav 3rd Jan, 2025

Hi Kundan,

Yes , you can apply for the GATE Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA) exam even with a non-technical bachelor's degree, as long as you meet the general eligibility criteria. Here's what you need to know:

GATE Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Educational Qualification:

    • A bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, architecture, science, arts, or commerce is acceptable.
    • Since you are pursuing an MCA, you qualify as a postgraduate student, which makes you eligible to appear for the GATE exam.
  2. Current Students:

    • Students currently in the 3rd year or higher of their undergraduate degree or those in a postgraduate program (like MCA) can apply.
  3. No Restrictions on Background:

    • GATE does not explicitly require your bachelor's degree to be technical for most papers, including the DA paper. Your MCA provides you with the necessary technical grounding.

You can also take help from the given link to know more about GATE exam criteria.

Hope this helps!

I did my UG in 2023 and wrote AP ICET exam in 2023 and got rank of 1117. Due to some issues i didnt write my exams of 1st semester and took discontinued TC. Now I want to continue my MCA again, for that do I need to write ICET exam again or can I use previous rank for counsilling.

Tanya Gupta 26th Dec, 2024

If you want to resume your MCA after discontinuation, you generally cannot use your AP ICET 2023 rank for counseling in 2024. AP ICET ranks are valid only for the academic year in which they are obtained. To reapply for MCA in the upcoming academic year, you will likely need to take the AP ICET exam again to qualify for counseling and secure admission.
