Both are the best.Mechanical is the evergreen branch while cse branch is most preferred among the students nowadays.But i can assure you that if study very well and score GPA 8 above in your semester exams then definitely you can get job.You can also try for government jobs after completing

You can't get good jobs after doing only diploma in mechanical engineering.You have to do lateral entry btech course for more job related options.However,if you want to do a job and continue further studies then you may opt for distance education course of btech lateral entry.Try to find out
