According to JEE norms you have a chance of appearing in JEE misn 3 times and appearing in JEE advance two times.
So its like you can appear for JEE Mains in the year in which you are appearing for your 12th , then the following year which will be your 1st drop year then in the next year as well that will be your second drop year. For JEE advance you can appear in the year in which you are appearing for your 12 th and then only the year after that, that will be your 1st drop year, you get only 2 attempts for that. Also you can for JEE advance only after you clear Jee Mains.
