The basic difference is LPU is a private organisation run college whereas IIIT is under HRD Government of India.
The admission for LPU has its own admission test and same for its counselling. IIIT comes under HRD and for that you need to qualify JEE MAINS and should have a rank so that you can be alloted that particular IIIT through JOSAA.
